FALL ATHLETICS

BOY'S AND GIRL'S CROSS COUNTRY

If you like to run, like to compete on an individual basis, and just plain keep in shape, be a part of the Spartan Boys and Girls Cross Country teams. Cross Country practices start in mid August and continue through the fall sports season with the opportunity to compete at the WIAA Sectional and State Meets. If you like running here's a great way to get the school year off on the right foot.

GRADES: 9-12
NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: Unlimited
LENGTH OF SEASON: Mid-August to the first weekend in November.
PRACTICES: After school for a two hour period Monday-Friday and some Saturday mornings.
TYPES OF ACTIVITIES: A schedule of 11 meets and numerous practices.
COSTS: To Be Announced. Running shoes.

FOOTBALL

The Spartan football team is one of great pride and rich tradition. The football season is a very exciting time of the year not only for the players, but also for the parents and fans alike. A tailgate party, a parent's night and the ever popular homecoming week are all part of football season. Participants should have some basic knowledge of the game and should have participated in the sport of football at some level. Come join one of the Spartan teams and dream of a state championship! A varsity squad, a sophomore team, and a freshman team have separate schedules.

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: Unlimited
LENGTH OF SEASON: Second full Tuesday in August through the second weekend in November.
PRACTICES: Daily after school, times to be determined by the coaching staff
TYPES OF ACTIVITIES: 9 regular season games and the WIAA playoffs

GIRL'S GOLF

Swing into the action with the Girl's Golf team. You don't have to be an expert golfer, but some experience and enthusiasm are the key ingredients. Competition begins in early August and concludes with the WIAA playoff series in early October. The Nemadji Golf Course serves as the home course for our Spartans.

GRADES: 9-12
NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: Unlimited during the regular season. Some restrictions exist for Tournament play
LENGTH OF SEASON: First Monday in August until mid October
PRACTICES: Daily after school, times to be determined by the coaching staff
TYPES OF ACTIVITIES: 14 match schedule along with the WIAA Tournament series.

BOY'S SOCCER:

The world's most popular sport of soccer is a varsity sport at Superior Senior. The Spartans are part of the Lake Superior Conference schedule and will compete in the WIAA tournament series.

GRADES: 9-12
NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: 22 varsity, JV varies
LENGTH OF SEASON: Mid-August until the end of October
PRACTICES: Daily after school, to be determined by the coaching staff
TYPES OF ACTIVITIES: 22 matches and the WIAA Tournament series

GIRL'S SWIMMING AND DIVING:

The girl's swimming and diving team has been a splashing success. Success in this activity comes from hard work and dedication. The practice sessions prepare the girl's for their meets, which are fun, exciting and challenging. If you like the water there's no better place than the beautiful pool that awaits you.

GRADES: 9-12 NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: Unlimited.
PRACTICES: Some two a day practices, one AM and one PM, along with a regular schedule of daily practice sessions
LENGTH OF SEASON: Mid-August through the second weekend in November
TYPES OF ACTIVITIES: 14 swimming meets and the WIAA Tournament series

GIRL'S TENNIS

Get into the swing of things by teaming up for a doubly exciting experience. Singles or doubles play allows a large number of girl's to participate in a very fast paced activity. All you need is your racket and a good pair of tennis court shoes. Tennis may be that perfect match for you.

GRADES: 9-12 NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: Unlimited
PRACTICES: Daily as determined by the Head Coach
LENGTH OF SEASON: Mid-August through mid October
TYPES OF ACTIVITIES: A total of 14 possible matches and the WIAA Tournament series

GIRL'S VOLLEYBALL

Bump, set, and spike. Three key ingredients for successful play as a Spartan volleyball player: A popular sport that demands a lot of time and energy but produces great rewards. If you are willing to practice daily and have some volleyball skills set yourself up for a great experience. Varsity, JV and Freshmen teams will compete.

GRADES: 9-12
NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: Approximately 24-30
PRACTICES: Daily as determined by the Head Coach
LENGTH OF SEASON: Mid-August through the first weekend in November
TYPES OF ACTIVITIES: A 15 game schedule and the WIAA Tournament series
